Dear Mr Middleton I am writing to you on behalf of my mother, Joyce Ireland The very beginning of 2021 has been a difficult one for Joyce and us as a family, with my mother’s hip dislocating on numerous occasions ! The two subsequent procedures to rectify the issue for a 98 year old, we’re not easy to undertake! The care given to Joyce from the ambulance service, nursing staff and carers over the past seven months has been fantastic! We would like to pay special thanks to you for your skill and care given to Joyce. She is recovering well and has made good progress, being able to navigate her way round her house and use the stair lift unaided!! Thank you again Kind regards Jill Dingle (on behalf of Joyce Ireland)

My consultation with Mr. Middleton was certainly not an intimidating experience - quite the contrary. I was put at ease immediately and my medical problem was explained thoroughly, after which I was given the opportunity to raise any particular concerns. I left feeling reassured that Mr. Middleton and his Secretary would be happy to look after me.

My 80 yr. old body was badly broken when Dr. Rory Middleton arrived at my bedside in RCH. I had a broken hip replacement and cracked femur.Having revealed my injuries I was informed that the same type of hip joint was not in stock and would take four days to obtain.Mr. M.thought he could adapt one that was in stock and his articulateness and confident attitude persuaded me that was the better option and the six hour operation took place the following day.Mr. Middleton's after care was exemplary. appearing at my bedside daily, explaining what had taken place in surgery and the interventions required to aid my recovery. My recent check up with Mr. Middleton showed my two hips looking well embedded and I was able to say pain free. It gave me great pleasure to be able to tell him that I am in a better state than I was pre-accident as my first hip replacement had a poor outcome leaving me with a pronounced limp. Mr. Middleton was able to correct some of the damage and the limp has gone. I am fortunate to be a fit and strong 83 year old who will forever be grateful to Mr. Rory Middleton for his skill, care and making himself available if any future problems arise. Cornwall is fortunate to have such skills available in the NHS
